Michael Corsi
A 2006 graduate of the John Marshall School of Law, Mr. Corsi is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, and is licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.
During his years of education, Mr. Corsi's focus was to gain experience in numerous areas of legal representation.
Employed as a law clerk in the Law Offices of Mark J. Horwitz, in Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Corsi gained experience in the field of personal injury law. In assissting Mr. Horwitz, Mr. Corsi researched and drafted pleadings, motions, and responses, conducted discovery by assembling medical records, compiling specials summaries, and preparing answers to interrogatories. Mr. Corsi also performed initial client interviews and informed existing clients of case status. Other office activities included summarizing statutes, case law and depositions, and devising long-term case strategy.
In the field of civil law, as an extern for the Honorable Edward R. Burr (Ret.) in Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Corsi researched and prepared draft opinions, observed and consulted on daily pre-trial settlement conferences, reviewed upcoming cases and prepared memoranda for rulings on pre and post trial motions, and prepared summaries of cases and briefs. Over the course of this internship, Mr. Corsi resolved issues in cases ranging from consumer fraud to alleged municipal contract bid rigging, with his draft opinions being adopted in full by the Court.
As a law clerk for the Cook County States Attorney’s Office,
Chicago Felony Division, in Bridgeview, Illinois, Mr. Corsi researched
and prepared memoranda for evidentiary matters, researched and retrieved
factual information for pending cases, participated in daily case strategies,
witness/victim preparation, and plea negotiations. Mr. Corsi attended
and observed court daily, including both bench and jury trials.
Mr. Corsi has served as an Associate Justice in the John Marshall Law
School Moot Court program. He was a participant in several Moot Court
competitions arguing cases dealing with product liability issues.
